GunRiot, Page 24
The following is an excerpt from the book, City of Ruin, by Naria Heft. [Originally published five years ago.]
While some areas of Kurtow are entirely without electricity, others are still running on outdated Lurion power cells. As years go by, these cells become increasingly dangerous due to age and lack of proper maintenance. It’s believed that only a select few resourceful individuals have adopted alternate means of generating power, but these are reportedly found in the more rural areas of the megadistrict.

R-T-B! Or in this case, return to the garage shop.😎
LOL! My Dad worked for Union Oil – the 76 on their jackets – for over 30 years. Nice throwback to see.
OK, this episode has gotten me to wondering about the exact geography surrounding Kurtow and why it’s isolated. If it stretches so far from the area where the bridges to the main part of the city were, aren’t there roads and highways to other towns and cities that could be used for supply routes or for people to escape the ruins? They’d have to be surrounded by some pretty impenetrable geography to remain that cut off for these many years. The area shown in the first panel has plenty of open area to lay down a basic landing strip for cargo aircraft like a C-130 to land and take off.
It does seem very post apocalyptic (world-ending) rather then a great quake that leveled a massive section of the city. Perhaps it should be clarified a bit more visually, that way nobody will be confused.
A map of the whole area showing how Kurtow is cut off and isolated from everywhere else would be helpful.
